Advance ticket orders for American singer Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert film, which opens in theaters next week, surpassed $100 million on its first day of sale, the film’s distributor AMC said in a statement.
Thus, “Eras Tour” has already become the highest-grossing concert film in history, surpassing the $99 million earned by Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never” in 2011.
Meanwhile, analysts believe the debut weekend in North America could reach another $100 million.
Swift’s world tour is expected to last until the end of 2024. The total sales of concert tickets could exceed 1.4 billion dollars, surpassing the record of Elton John’s farewell tour.
